What this recall means for you
Certain seat belt retractors may deactivate early, so the automatic locking feature can stop working before a child restraint system is fully secured. The vehicles therefore do not meet Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 208 for occupant crash protection.
If a child car seat is not held firmly in place, it can move during a crash and increase the risk of injury to the child.
Dealers will inspect the seat belt assemblies and replace them where needed, at no cost to you. Owner notification letters were mailed October 22, 2021. You can also contact Polestar customer service at 1-800-806-2504, and check your vehicle's VIN for any open recalls.
