Indian Scout Bobber Sixty Recall 21V681: Brake lights may fail, raising crash risk

NHTSA campaign 21V681, reported September 2, 2021, 177 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

An engine control unit (ECU) software update may cause the brake lights to stop working. Inoperable brake lights make it harder for other drivers to see when you are slowing or stopping, which can increase the risk of a crash.

Owners should inspect their brake lights. If the brake lights are not working, do not ride the motorcycle. Take it to an authorized Indian dealer, where the ECU will be re-flashed free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed September 27, 2021. You can also check your VIN for open recalls and contact Indian customer service at 1-877-204-3697.
