Husqvarna Vitpilen 701 Recall 21V627: Plate Holder May Rub Rear Wheel, Raising Crash Risk

NHTSA campaign 21V627, reported August 10, 2021, 1,506 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

The gear teeth on the license plate holder and rear swingarm may be misaligned, which can allow the rear axle nut to loosen. When that happens, the license plate holder can contact the rear wheel.

This contact can increase the risk of a crash or injury, since interference with the rear wheel can upset the motorcycle while it is being ridden.

Authorized dealers will inspect and realign the gear teeth on the license plate holder and swingarm, and check the tightness of the rear wheel axle collar, at no cost to you. Owner notification letters were mailed on October 1, 2021. You can contact KTM customer service at 1-888-985-6090 (recall number HTB2106), and check your VIN for any open recalls.
