A fuel leak creates a fire risk if it comes into contact with an ignition source. The recall notice states that this increases the risk of a fire.
Owners should contact Custom Fire Apparatus customer service at 1-715-294-2555 to confirm whether their vehicle is covered. The remedy is free: Cummins will inspect the fuel rail threads and fuel lines and replace the fuel rail if needed, at no cost to the owner.
