Porsche Taycan Recall 21V608: Rear seat belts may not lock for child seats in crash

NHTSA campaign 21V608, reported August 4, 2021, 4,924 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain seat belt retractors in these vehicles may deactivate early. When that happens, the automatic locking feature may not hold a child restraint system securely in place, and the vehicles do not meet the federal occupant crash protection standard.

An unsecured child seat can increase the risk of injury to a child during a crash. Owners should be aware of this risk, especially if they regularly transport children in a car seat.

Dealers will inspect the seat belt assemblies and replace them where necessary, at no cost to you. Owner notification letters were mailed October 1, 2021. You can contact Porsche customer service at 1-800-767-7243 (recall number AMB6), and you should check your vehicle identification number for any open recalls.
