Prime Time Tracer Recall 21V575: Trailer Tail Lights May Warp and Fail, Reducing Visibility

NHTSA campaign 21V575, reported July 28, 2021, 29 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain 2021 recreational trailers have a tail light mounted too close to the water heater exhaust. Over time, the heat can distort the light lens, and the light may stop working altogether.

A distorted or inoperative tail light makes the trailer harder for other drivers to see, which increases the risk of a crash. Owners should treat this as a safety issue and have the trailer inspected.

The remedy is free. Authorized dealers will replace the tail light with a flush-mount tail light at no charge. Owners were notified by letter starting August 18, 2021, and can contact Forest River customer service at 1-574-862-1025 for help. Also check your trailer's VIN for any open recalls.
