What this recall means for you
On certain 2020 Altec AA-Class and AN-Class aerial devices, the weld joining the leveling sprocket to its hub assembly may fail. When this happens, the platform can level in an uncontrolled way, which increases the risk of serious injury or death for workers on the platform and others nearby.
Altec Industries will inspect the leveling sprocket assembly. If the sprocket is damaged, Altec will replace it. If no damage is found, Altec will install a secondary retention kit that limits rotation of the platform. Both the inspection and the repair are free of charge. Owners who received the recall notice mailed on September 15, 2021 can contact Altec customer service at 1-877-462-5832 and reference recall number CSN 828. You can also check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for any open recalls.
