Kenworth T680 Recall 21V546: Windshield Defrost May Fail, Reducing Driver Visibility

NHTSA campaign 21V546, reported July 20, 2021, 6,916 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

The climate control unit on these trucks may have poor solder connections between the control knobs (potentiometers) and the circuit board. Over time this can cause the windshield defroster to stop working.

If the windshield defrost fails, the driver may lose the ability to see clearly through the glass in cold or humid weather, which raises the risk of a crash.

Authorized Kenworth dealers will replace the HVAC control head at no cost to you. Contact PACCAR customer service at 1-425-828-5888 with questions, and check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for open recalls.
