Prevost X3-45 Commuter Recall 21V485: Passenger Seat Belt Clamp May Be Improperly Attached

NHTSA campaign 21V485, reported June 28, 2021, 65 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain 2021-2022 Prevost X3-45 Commuter coach buses may have a passenger seat attachment improperly clamped to the wall rail on the outboard side. The vehicles therefore do not meet Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 210 for seat belt assembly anchorages.

If a seat is not properly secured, it may not restrain its occupants as intended during a crash, which increases the risk of injury.

Prevost will provide instructions for inspecting and replacing the seat belt clamp at no cost to owners. Owners who received the notification letter mailed August 31, 2021 can contact Prevost customer service at 1-866-870-2046, referencing recall SR21-308.
