Porsche 911 Recall 21V467: Passenger Air Bag May Not Deploy Properly

NHTSA campaign 21V467, reported June 23, 2021, 149 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Some vehicles were built with the wrong front passenger seat installed. This can cause the Occupant Classification System, which detects whether a passenger is present and how large they are, to malfunction. As a result, the front passenger air bag may not work as intended.

A malfunctioning occupant classification system raises the risk of injury to a front passenger in a crash, because the air bag may not respond correctly to the person sitting there.

An authorized Porsche dealer will install the correct seat at no cost to you. Owner notification letters were mailed November 16, 2021. You can also contact Porsche customer service at 1-800-767-7243, referencing recall AMB3, and check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for any open recalls.
