- Problem
- Thor Motor Coach (TMC) is recalling certain 2018-2022 Axis 25.6 and 2018-2021 Vegas 25.6 motorhomes. The heat shield between the LP tank and chassis muffler was not installed.
- Risk
- A missing heat shield increases the risk of a fire.
- Remedy
- Dealers will install a heat shield, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed July 22, 2021. Owners may contact TMC customer service at 1-877-855-2867. TMC's number for this recall is RC000228.

What this recall means for you
Certain motorhomes were built without a heat shield between the liquefied petroleum gas (LP) tank and the chassis muffler. Without that shield, the muffler's heat can reach the area around the tank, which increases the risk of a fire.
A fire in or near the LP tank area can spread quickly and is dangerous to occupants. Owners should take this recall seriously and avoid parking or operating the vehicle in ways that expose the tank area to unnecessary risk until the repair is completed.
Authorized dealers will install the missing heat shield at no charge. Owners who received the notification letter mailed July 22, 2021, can contact Thor Motor Coach customer service at 1-877-855-2867 and reference recall RC000228. You can also check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for open recalls to confirm whether your motorhome is affected.
