Forest River Sandpiper Recall 21V378: Trailer Floor Bolts Can Loosen, Risking Body Separation

NHTSA campaign 21V378, reported May 24, 2021, 18 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain 2021 fifth wheel and travel trailers have floor-to-chassis bolts that were not tightened properly during assembly. Over time, this can allow the trailer body to detach from the chassis, which raises the risk of a crash.

If you own an affected trailer, an authorized dealer will tighten the bolts to the chassis outriggers at no charge. Owners who received a notification letter, mailed June 9, 2021, can also contact Forest River customer service at 1-574-534-4574 and reference recall 03-1347. You can also check your trailer's VIN for any open recalls.
