Arcimoto FUV Recall 21V307: Steering Sensor Fault May Cause Loss of Control

NHTSA campaign 21V307, reported May 3, 2021, 261 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

The steering angle sensor on certain Arcimoto vehicles may have been calibrated incorrectly. As a result, the sensor may fail to detect a fault, or detect one incorrectly. After a fault is detected, the inverters may apply unequal torque, which can cause oversteer and raise the risk of a crash.

If you own an affected vehicle, a service technician will update the firmware and replace the idler arm at no cost to you. Arcimoto has no dealers or distributors at this time, so the repair is handled through the company. Owner notification letters were mailed May 27, 2021. You can contact Arcimoto customer service at 1-541-683-6293 to arrange the repair.

Whether or not you received a letter, check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for open recalls and contact Arcimoto to confirm your vehicle's status.
