Look Cargo Trailer Recall 21V294: Axle Bracket Can Separate, Risking Loss of Trailer Control

NHTSA campaign 21V294, reported April 26, 2021, 5 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

On certain 2021 cargo trailers, the aluminum bracket that attaches the axle to the frame may separate, allowing the axle to shift out of position. The trailer's stability can be affected as a result.

A bracket failure can make the trailer unstable while towed, which increases the risk of a crash. Owners should take the recall seriously and avoid towing the trailer until the bracket has been inspected and repaired, if it is affected.

The repair is free. An authorized dealer will weld a gusset onto both ends of the bracket. Owners who received a notification letter, mailed May 25, 2021, can also contact LSG customer service at 1-877-475-5665. Check your trailer's VIN for open recalls to confirm whether your unit is included.
