Nissan Rogue Recall 21V286: Rear brake caliper may leak fluid, reducing braking

NHTSA campaign 21V286, reported April 22, 2021, 14,054 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Some rear brake calipers may be missing an internal bushing. Without it, the O-ring seal can move out of place and allow brake fluid to leak out of the caliper.

A loss of brake fluid can reduce braking performance, which increases the risk of a crash. If you notice a soft or spongy brake pedal, a warning light, or reduced stopping power, have the vehicle checked promptly.

Authorized dealers will inspect the rear brake calipers and replace the left and/or right caliper as needed, free of charge. Owners can also call Nissan customer service at 1-800-867-7669 (recall PC804), and should check their VIN for any open recalls.
