What this recall means for you
A retainer in the SC-3 single check valve of the air brake system may not be properly seated. As a result, the valve may not isolate source air when pressure is applied, and these buses may fail to meet Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 121 for air brake systems.
The main risk is unintended spring brake application, which can cause the brakes to engage when they should not. This increases the risk of a crash.
Dealers will replace the SC-3 check valves free of charge. Owners who have not yet had the repair can contact Blue Bird customer service at 1-478-822-2242, and should check their vehicle identification number for any open recalls.
