What this recall means for you
On this vehicle, the VIN printed on the dashboard and certification label does not match the VIN on the body-in-white. Federal certification rules require these identifiers to agree, so this vehicle does not fully comply with the labeling requirements.
The risk is indirect but real. Recall notices and recall lookups depend on the correct VIN, so an owner may not receive notice of open safety recalls. A missed safety recall could raise the chance of injury, a crash, or a fire.
Daimler Vans USA will notify owners, and an authorized dealer will replace the VIN on the dashboard and certification label at no cost. Owners can call Daimler Vans USA customer service at 1-877-762-8267, referencing recall number VS3VINCHA. You can also check your VIN for open recalls at NHTSA's website.
