Custom Truck & Body Works Ford F-550 Recall 21V143: Lights May Be Too Bright, Risking Other Drivers' Vision

NHTSA campaign 21V143, reported March 5, 2021, 2 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

The 7x9 combination LED Stop-Tail-Turn reverse lights on these vehicles may be brighter than federal lighting limits allow. Because they exceed the maximum allowed light output, these vehicles do not meet Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 108 for lamps and reflective devices.

The excessive brightness can affect the vision of other drivers, which increases the risk of a crash.

Owners will be notified, and the light manufacturer, ECCO, will provide a lens filter that dims the light at no cost. To get the free remedy, contact Custom Truck customer service at 1-888-712-2962. You can also check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for any open recalls.
