Forest River Cardinal Recall 21V141: Furnace Flue Can Leak Exhaust Into Living Space

NHTSA campaign 21V141, reported March 5, 2021, 21 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

A furnace flue on these RVs may become misaligned because the furnace hold screws are not sufficient to keep the furnace secured during travel. When the flue shifts, furnace exhaust can leak into the living area, creating a risk of injury or death.

Owners will be notified by mail. The fix is free: an authorized dealer will secure the furnace with the correct hold screws and align the flue. If you own an affected vehicle, contact Forest River customer service at 1-574-296-7700 and check your VIN for open recalls before your next trip.
