Oshkosh S-Series Recall 21V125: Rear output shaft may fracture, risking driveline detachment

NHTSA campaign 21V125, reported February 26, 2021, 19 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain Oshkosh S-Series vehicles from the 2020 and 2021 model years may have a rear axle output shaft that was not heat-treated properly. Because of this, the shaft could fracture.

If the shaft fractures, the shaft or the interaxle driveline may detach from the vehicle, which increases the risk of a crash or injury.

Owners will be notified by Oshkosh and instructed to inspect the output shaft. If needed, a new shaft will be ordered and installed free of charge at an authorized dealer. The recall began on March 31, 2021. To check for this or other open recalls, enter your VIN on the NHTSA recall lookup, or contact Oshkosh customer service at 1-888-686-7278.
