What this recall means for you
Some engines have flywheel capscrews that may not have been torqued correctly at the factory. If they loosen, the flywheel can detach from the crankshaft. This can cause a loss of drive power, which raises the risk of a crash, and driveline parts may be thrown out of the engine compartment, which raises the risk of injury.
If you own a recalled vehicle, the dealer will properly tighten the capscrews and inspect for any damage, repairing whatever is found. The repair is free at an authorized Cummins dealer. Owners will be notified by Navistar and Cummins, but you can also check your VIN for open recalls.
For questions, contact Navistar customer service at 1-800-448-7825.
