What this recall means for you
Certain 2020-2021 Audi Q7 vehicles have an air bag control module that may deploy the second stage of the front passenger air bag too quickly after the first stage when an unbelted child is seated in the front passenger seat. The vehicles therefore do not fully meet Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 208, which covers occupant crash protection.
If a crash requires the passenger air bag to deploy, the faster second-stage deployment can increase the risk of injury to a child in that seat. Owners should check whether their vehicle is included in this recall.
Audi will notify affected owners, and an authorized dealer will update the air bag control module at no cost. Owners can contact Audi customer service at 1-800-253-2834, referencing recall 69BV. You can also check your VIN for open recalls at NHTSA.gov.
