Trail King Tkhg Recall 21V066: Trailer Brakes May Fail From Water Corrosion

NHTSA campaign 21V066, reported February 11, 2021, 47 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Some trailers have disc brakes where the sealant on the front axle's brake chamber extension tube may be missing. This can let water get into the brake caliper, where it may cause corrosion or freezing. Over time, this can reduce front braking effectiveness and increase the risk of a crash.

An authorized dealer will inspect the front axle brake system and seal the disc brake extension tube where needed, at no cost to you. If water has already caused corrosion in the caliper mechanism, the caliper will be replaced free of charge.

Owners can contact Trail King customer service at 1-800-843-3324 for more information. You can also check your trailer's VIN for open recalls to confirm whether it is affected.
