MCI J4500 Recall 21V063: Battery Cables May Chafe and Cause a Fire

NHTSA campaign 21V063, reported February 10, 2021, 1,229 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Power cables in the battery compartment may have been improperly installed and routed, so they can rub against nearby parts over time. This chafing can wear through the cable insulation.

Worn cables increase the risk of a fire. Owners should watch for any sign of a problem and not ignore it.

Owners will also be notified by Motor Coach Industries, or you can contact MCI customer service at 1-800-241-2947 (recall R21-003).
