Hyundai Santa FE Hybrid Recall 21V00K: Instrument Display May Show Inverted Image at Startup

NHTSA campaign 21V00K, reported December 28, 2021, 714 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

On certain 2022 Hyundai Santa Fe Hybrid and Plug-in Hybrid vehicles, the instrument cluster LCD screen may display an inverted image when the vehicle starts up, making the display difficult or impossible to read. This means the cluster may not show information such as vehicle speed or safety system warnings, and the vehicle does not meet Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 101 for controls and displays.

An unreadable instrument cluster can increase the risk of a crash, because you may not be able to see your speed or important warnings while driving.

Authorized Hyundai dealers will replace the instrument cluster free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed February 23, 2022. You can contact Hyundai customer service at 1-855-371-9460, and you should check your vehicle's VIN for any open recalls.
