What this recall means for you
The communication module software in these vehicles may restrict or disable the emergency call system (eCall), which connects occupants to the call center for help. If this happens, you may be unable to reach emergency services through the call center during an emergency.
A disabled eCall system could delay emergency responders from reaching you after a crash or other emergency, which could increase the risk of injury.
The software will be updated free of charge by an authorized dealer or through an over-the-air (OTA) update. Owner notification letters were mailed February 23, 2022. You can contact Mercedes-Benz USA customer service at 1-800-367-6372 and reference recall number 2022010006. You can also check your VIN for open recalls.
