Crestline Coach CCL150 Type I Recall 21V003: Seat belt anchor may fail, reducing crash protection

NHTSA campaign 21V003, reported January 8, 2021, 61 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Two of the eight seat belt fastening points at the side-facing CPR seat on the street side of these ambulances may have threaded inserts that were installed too close to a mounting flange. This can cause improper crimping of the insert, which may partly or fully reduce the effectiveness of the seat belt harness.

If the seat belt harness loses effectiveness in a crash, the occupant seated in that position faces a higher risk of injury.

The repair is free. An authorized dealer will inspect both seat belt anchor points. If no defect is found, no further action is needed. If the defect is present on one or both anchor points, the dealer will replace the defective insert(s) with nut plate(s) at no charge. Owners can also contact Braun Ambulances customer service at 1-877-344-9990, and should check their vehicle identification number (VIN) for open recalls.
