Land Rover Range Rover Evoque Recall 20V793: Rear Seat Belts May Not Work Properly in a Crash

NHTSA campaign 20V793, reported December 17, 2020, 13 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain rear outer seat belts in this vehicle, which were replaced with a part that may not function as intended, can fail to perform properly in a crash. The vehicles also do not meet federal safety requirements for occupant crash protection and seat belt assemblies.

A seat belt that does not work correctly can increase the risk of injury to people sitting in the second row during a collision. Owners should take this recall seriously, especially if rear passengers, including children, regularly ride in those seats.

The repair is free. Dealers will inspect the right and/or left outer second-row seat belt assemblies and replace them if needed. Owners may also contact Land Rover customer service at 1-800-637-6837 (recall number N523). Check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for open recalls to confirm whether your vehicle is affected.
