Ford ECO Sport Recall 20V791: Frontal Air Bags May Not Deploy in a Crash

NHTSA campaign 20V791, reported December 17, 2020, 12 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Some frontal air bag modules in these vehicles are missing the first-stage booster propellant and sleeve. Because of this, the affected driver or passenger air bag may not deploy as intended in a crash, and the vehicle does not meet Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 208 for occupant crash protection.

An air bag that fails to inflate properly leaves occupants with less protection in a collision, which increases the risk of injury. Depending on the model, either the driver side or passenger side module is affected.

Owners will be notified by Ford. The affected air bag module will be replaced free of charge at an authorized dealer. You can also contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332 and check your vehicle identification number for open recalls.
