Aston Martin DBX Recall 20V784: Missing Headliner Foam Can Raise Injury Risk in Crashes

NHTSA campaign 20V784, reported December 16, 2020, 151 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Some 2021 DBX vehicles were built without the foam blocks that should be installed in the headliner, the ceiling lining inside the cabin. Because of this, the vehicles do not meet the federal occupant protection standard for interior impact, FMVSS 201.

The missing foam blocks can increase the risk of injury to occupants who are not wearing seat belts if the vehicle is involved in a crash. Owners should keep this in mind and continue to buckle up on every trip.

Aston Martin will notify affected owners, and dealers will install the headliner foam blocks at no cost. Owners can contact Aston Martin customer service at 1-888-923-9988, and should check their vehicle identification number (VIN) for any open recalls.
