Forest River XLR Toyhauler Recall 20V767: Incorrect Weight Label Can Lead to Overloading and Crash Risk

NHTSA campaign 20V767, reported December 10, 2020, 200 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain 2020-2021 XLR Boost Toy Hauler recreational vehicles may have a Federal Placard and Cargo Carrying Capacity label that lists a lower weight than the vehicle actually weighs. Because the labeled weight is inaccurate, the vehicle can be loaded beyond its true limits without the owner realizing it. These vehicles also do not fully comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 120 for wheels and rims.

An overloaded vehicle can damage the tires and increases the risk of a crash. Forest River, Inc. will notify owners and provide a new Federal Placard free of charge, and will replace any damaged tires at no cost. Owners can contact Forest River customer service at 1-574-642-0432 and should check their vehicle identification number for any open recalls.
