Audi Q7 Recall 20V749: Side Airbag May Deploy Late in a Side Crash

NHTSA campaign 20V749, reported December 2, 2020, 166 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

The electrical connector on the door crash sensor in either front door can detach. If it does, the side airbag, curtain airbag, or seat-belt pretensioners may be delayed in a side-impact crash.

A delayed response from these restraints can increase the risk of injury to occupants during a side collision. Audi will notify owners, and dealers will inspect and, if needed, replace the crash sensors in both front doors at no cost.

If you own one of these vehicles, contact Audi customer service at 1-800-253-2834 or visit an authorized Audi dealer, and check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for open recalls.
