Honda Pilot Recall 20V725: Tires may fail suddenly, risking loss of vehicle control

NHTSA campaign 20V725, reported November 20, 2020, 214 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain tires on these vehicles may have been cured for longer than specified during manufacturing. Over-cured tires can develop a break in the sidewall, causing sudden air loss, or a belt edge separation, which can lead to loss of tread or belt material. Either condition can cause a loss of vehicle control and increase the risk of a crash or injury.

Honda will notify affected owners. Authorized dealers will inspect all four tires at no charge and replace any tire with the affected DOT serial number and mold number, also at no charge. Owners can contact Honda customer service at 1-888-234-2138 with recall number U8Y, and should check their VIN for open recalls.
