Zero Sr/F Recall 20V704: Front brake switch can fail, so brake light may not come on

NHTSA campaign 20V704, reported November 13, 2020, 659 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

On certain 2020 Zero SR/F and SR/S motorcycles, water can get into the front brake switch and cause it to fail. When this happens, the brake light does not illuminate when the front brakes are applied, so drivers behind you may not realize you are slowing down. Cruise control also may not shut off when the front brakes are used.

Both problems raise the risk of a crash, since following vehicles may not react in time and cruise control may keep the motorcycle moving when the rider expects it to stop.

Zero Motorcycles will notify owners, and authorized dealers will replace the front brake switch free of charge. For questions, contact Zero customer service at 1-888-841-8085 and reference recall number SV-ZMC-021-020. You can also check your VIN for open recalls.
