BMW M2 Recall 20V666: Fuel Leak Risk: Injectors Missing Vibration Damper

NHTSA campaign 20V666, reported October 29, 2020, 21 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Some fuel injectors on these vehicles may have been installed without a damping component meant to reduce vibration. Without it, vibration increases at the connection between the fuel line and the fuel rail, and over time that connection can become damaged.

A damaged connection can cause a fuel leak. If fuel leaks near an ignition source, it increases the risk of a fire. Owners should take this recall seriously and act promptly.

BMW will notify owners. Dealers will inspect the fuel injectors, and if a damping component is missing, the injectors and fuel rail will be replaced free of charge. You can contact BMW customer service at 1-800-525-7417, and you should check your VIN for open recalls.
