Demers TSE Recall 20V661: Rear seat belt harness may separate from mounting in a crash

NHTSA campaign 20V661, reported October 27, 2020, 291 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Some 2017-2020 Demers TSE and EXE ambulances have an upper seat belt harness, installed in the rear medical module at the side-facing bench seats, that can partially or completely separate from its mounting. Continued use of an affected harness may happen before the problem is noticed.

If the upper harness separates, the risk of injury to an occupant increases in the event of a crash. Owners should contact Braun Ambulances customer service at 1-877-344-9990 to confirm their vehicle is covered. Braun will notify owners, and the repair is free: an authorized dealer will remove and reinstall the harness mounting bolts in a modified configuration. The recall began November 16, 2020.

You can also check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for open recalls to confirm whether this repair is still outstanding on your ambulance.
