RAM 1500 Recall 20V622: Driver Mirror Glass Can Detach, Reducing Rear Visibility

NHTSA campaign 20V622, reported October 8, 2020, 19,075 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

The driver side exterior mirror glass on certain 2020 Ram 1500 and 2500 trucks can come loose from its backing plate. When this happens, the mirror no longer gives a reflective view, so the driver loses visibility behind and beside the vehicle. The vehicles also do not meet federal rear visibility requirements.

Reduced rear and side visibility raises the risk of a crash, especially when changing lanes, backing up, or merging. If you own one of these trucks, check whether it is affected and avoid relying on a mirror that is loose or missing its reflective surface.

The repair is free. Dealers will replace the driver side mirror glass at no cost to you. Owners may also contact FCA US customer service at 1-800-853-1403 (Chrysler recall number W70). You can check your VIN for open recalls on this vehicle at any time.
