Forest River Vengeance Recall 20V553: Incorrect Load Label May Lead to Overloaded Trailer

NHTSA campaign 20V553, reported September 11, 2020, 273 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Some trailers from these model years have a federal certification label that may list the wrong amount of water for units equipped with the 100-gallon tank option. Because the label may understate the weight the trailer can safely carry, the trailer can be overloaded. An overloaded trailer has an increased risk of a crash.

The manufacturer will notify owners, and authorized dealers will install a new placard reflecting the 100-gallon tank. The repair is free of charge. If you own one of these trailers, check your VIN for open recalls and contact Forest River customer service at 1-260-499-2100 with questions about this recall, referencing recall number 17-1193.
