E-One Typhoon Recall 20V546: Rear axle can shift and cause loss of control

NHTSA campaign 20V546, reported September 9, 2020, 15 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

The lower shock mount bracket can cause the U-bolts that hold the leaf springs to the rear axle to bind and break. If that happens, the rear axle may not stay secured and can shift sideways.

A shifting rear axle can cause the driver to lose control of the vehicle, which raises the risk of a crash. Owners should take the vehicle to an authorized dealer as soon as possible for the recall repair.

Dealers will replace any affected lower shock mount brackets free of charge. You can also check your VIN for open recalls and contact E-One customer service at 1-888-237-1751 for more information.
