What this recall means for you
Certain 2020 and 2021 Volvo VAH, VHD, VNL and VNR trucks have a die cast brake pedal plate that may crack or break at one of its attachment points. If this happens, the brake pedal can dislodge, and a driver who cannot use the brake pedal has a greater risk of being involved in a crash. These vehicles also fail to meet Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 121 for air brake systems.
Volvo Trucks North America will notify affected owners. Authorized dealers will inspect the brake pedal plate and replace it if needed, at no cost to you. Owners may contact Volvo Trucks customer service at 1-800-458-1552, referencing recall number RVXX2004. You can also check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for open recalls.
