Forest River Berkshire Recall 20V488: Rear marker, brake, and turn lights may fail, raising crash risk

NHTSA campaign 20V488, reported August 18, 2020, 1,547 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

The rear-mounted Power Distribution Module (PDM) in certain motorhomes built on FCCC XB and XC chassis may have been damaged during manufacturing. If it is damaged, the rear marker lights, brake lights, or turn signals may not work. Non-functioning exterior lights can increase the risk of a crash, because other drivers may not see you braking, turning, or be aware of your vehicle's presence.

The remedy is free. Forest River will notify affected owners, and Daimler Trucks dealers will replace the old PDM with a new one at no charge. The recall began January 18, 2021. Owners can contact DTNA customer service at 1-800-547-0712, and Forest River's recall number is 51-1203. Check your VIN for open recalls to confirm whether your vehicle is included.
