Cruise CAR Moke Recall 20V478: Speed Limiter May Allow Over 40 km/h, Raising Crash Injury Risk

NHTSA campaign 20V478, reported August 13, 2020, 27 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain 2020 Moke low-speed vehicles may be able to go faster than 40 km/h, the maximum speed allowed for a low-speed vehicle. Because of this, the vehicles do not meet Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 500 for low-speed vehicles.

A low-speed vehicle that can exceed 40 km/h has a higher risk of injury in a crash, since it is built and classified for lower speeds.

Cruise Car, Inc. will notify owners. Dealers will calibrate the vehicle's maximum speed at no cost to you. Contact Cruise Car customer service at 1-941-929-1630 for more information, and check your VIN for any open recalls.
