What this recall means for you
The generator rotor, also called the flywheel, on certain motorcycles may break. When it fails, it can damage the generator cover and cause oil to leak from the engine.
Leaking oil may drip onto the rear tire path, which reduces traction and increases the risk of a crash. Riders should take this recall seriously and avoid riding a motorcycle covered by it until it has been inspected.
The remedy is free. Dealers will inspect the production dates of the generator rotors and replace them as necessary. All affected motorcycles are still in dealer inventory, so owners should contact Ducati customer service at 1-888-391-5446 or an authorized Ducati dealer, and check their VIN for open recalls.
