Ford F-650 SD Recall 20V413: Missing Heat Shields May Cause Burns From Hot Cabin Floor

NHTSA campaign 20V413, reported July 17, 2020, 1,229 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Some trucks were built without underbody heat shields and other heat-protection parts. Without them, the cabin floor and seat attachments can get hot enough during certain driving conditions to cause skin injury if touched.

Skin contact with the hot areas of the cabin floor or seat attachments may cause injury. Owners should watch for notices from Ford and avoid touching these areas when the truck has been running under demanding conditions.

The repair is free. Dealers will install the missing underbody heat shield, thermal insulator patch, seat base covers, and seat bolt covers. Contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332, and check your VIN for open recalls.
