Chrysler Town And Country Recall 20V396: Loose Steering Wheel Emblem Can Become Projectile in Airbag Crash

NHTSA campaign 20V396, reported July 7, 2020, 925,239 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Some steering wheels may have a loose or missing brand emblem in the center. The emblem, or the nuts that secure it inside the driver airbag module, could break free and fly as projectiles if the driver airbag deploys in a crash. That increases the risk of injury.

The remedy is free. Dealers will replace the driver airbag cover with a redesigned cover. Owners will be notified by mail, but you can also contact FCA US LLC customer service at 1-800-853-1403 and reference recall W09. Check your VIN for open recalls at an authorized dealer or through the NHTSA website.

If you own one of the affected vehicles, schedule the repair with an authorized dealer as soon as possible.
