Forest River NO Boundaries Recall 20V386: Electrical overload can damage trailer appliances and cause fire

NHTSA campaign 20V386, reported July 2, 2020, 47 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

A protection device on the electrical circuit of certain Dometic CFX3 chest refrigerators may fail when the refrigerator is connected to both AC and DC power. This can let AC/DC power back feed through other 12V DC appliances on the same circuit, such as the air conditioner, water pump, lights and furnace, causing a voltage overload.

The overload may cause electrical damage to those DC appliances and may increase the risk of a fire. Owners should contact Forest River customer service at 1-574-642-3119, Option 2, or Dometic customer service at 1-888-943-4905 to arrange the remedy. Forest River will notify owners, and dealers will install new warning labels free of charge.

You can also check whether your trailer has any open recalls by entering its VIN on the NHTSA recall lookup site. Forest River's recall number for this campaign is 51-1189.
