Jayco Fifth Wheel North Point Recall 20V385: Suspension Springs May Let Tires Rub, Risking Crash

NHTSA campaign 20V385, reported July 2, 2020, 1,409 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain 2017 fifth wheel trailers have front and rear leaf springs that may not provide adequate load support. Under certain dynamic loads, the tires can contact the surrounding structure, such as the wheel well.

This contact can damage the tire or cause premature tire wear, and may lead to loss of control, increasing the risk of a crash. Owners should stop and get the trailer inspected if they notice tire damage, unusual tire wear, or rubbing noises.

The repair is free at an authorized dealer. Dealers will install a rubber bump stop on the top sides of the axles, inspect the suspension, replace any defective leaf springs as needed, and replace tires with visible damage. Jayco customer service can be reached at 1-800-517-9137, and you can check your VIN for open recalls.
