Forest River Rockwood Recall 20V376: Incorrect Weight Label Could Lead to Overloading and Crashes

NHTSA campaign 20V376, reported June 26, 2020, 74 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

The federal certification placard on certain 2020-2021 Rockwood trailers lists an incorrect Gross Axle Weight Rating (GAWR). Because the label understates or misstates how much weight the axles can safely carry, an owner could unknowingly overload the trailer.

An overloaded trailer can lose control and increases the risk of a crash. Owners should not rely on the current placard for weight limits until it is corrected.

Forest River will notify owners, and dealers will install replacement placards with accurate information at no cost. You can contact Forest River customer service at 1-574-642-8943 (recall number 10B-1185) and check your VIN for open recalls.
