Vac-Tron Cvgt Recall 20V368: Trailers May Lack Rear Reflectors, Raising Crash Risk

What this recall means for you

Certain 2020 vacuum excavator trailers may be missing their rear and rear-side reflex reflectors. These reflectors are required by federal lighting and reflective device standards. Without them, the trailer can be harder for other drivers to see, especially at night or in low visibility, which increases the risk of a crash.

The repair is free. Vac-Tron will notify owners, and Vermeer dealers will install remedy kits provided by Vac-Tron at no charge. Owners may also contact Vac-Tron customer service at 1-888-822-8766, referencing recall number VVK0010.

Problem
Vac-Tron Equipment, LLC (Vac-Tron), is recalling certain 2020 CVGTLC, CVSGT, CVGT, LPSGT, LPXDT, MINICOMBO and LPSDT Vacuum Excavator trailers. The trailers may be missing rear and rear-side reflex reflectors. As such, these trailers fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."
Risk
Without the proper reflective equipment, the vacuum excavator trailer may have reduced visibility, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy
Vac-Tron will notify owners, and Vermeer dealers will install remedy kits provided by Vac-Tron, free of charge. Vac-Tron issued owners an interim notification on August 18, 2020. The recall began August 18, 2020. Owners may contact Vac-Tron customer service at 1-888-822-8766. Vac-Tron's number for this recall is VVK0010.
