Forest River Sunseeker Recall 20V363: Brake hose can rub and leak fluid, longer stopping distances

NHTSA campaign 20V363, reported June 19, 2020, 522 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

On certain 2020-2021 motorhomes built on 2019 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter chassis, the rear part of the front fender liner may contact and chafe the brake hose. Over time this can cause the hose to leak, resulting in a loss of brake fluid.

Losing brake fluid can extend the distance needed to stop the vehicle, which increases the risk of a crash. If you own an affected vehicle, check your VIN for open recalls and contact Mercedes-Benz or Freightliner Sprinter dealers to schedule the free inspection and repair.

The remedy is free of charge: dealers will inspect and replace the brake hoses as necessary and modify the fender liners. Forest River will also notify owners. You can contact DVUSA customer service at 1-877-762-8267 (DVUSA recall number VS3BRADVER; Forest River recall number 51-1177). The recall began July 8, 2020.
